Your Waxahachie pooper scooper
Dog poop scooping in Waxahachie.
Waxahachie is the seat of Ellis County, about thirty miles south of Dallas on I-35E and US 287, and it's one of the towns Booty Scoopy serves from our home base in DeSoto. We're a family business, owned and run by Brandon and Christina, so the people who answer when you call or text are the same people who scoop.
On your scheduled day we walk the whole yard and pick up every pile. The waste is double-bagged, knotted and sanitized before it goes in your trash can, our tools, boots and buckets are sanitized between yards, and we double-check that your gate is latched before we leave. Choose once a week, twice a week or four times a week, or book a one-time cleanup before a party or after a long break. There's no contract, weekend service is available, and new customers get $25 off the first month.
Waxahachie's code has something to say about the backyard, too: letting dog waste pile up on your own property until it's unsanitary or offensive counts as a public nuisance. A regular scoop keeps you well clear of that, and our enzyme deodorizer takes care of a patio or dog run that still smells after the yard is clean.

Waxahachie's dog rules.
Pick up anywhere that isn't yours
Under Sec. 6-28, it's an offense to let your dog poop on private property or on property in a public place, to bring a dog there without something to pick up the waste, or to leave the waste behind. Picking it up promptly and disposing of it in a sanitary way is a defense, and so is the property being yours or its owner saying it's OK.
Fines of up to $500
Unless the chapter says otherwise, an animal violation in Waxahachie carries a fine of up to $500, and each day a violation continues counts as a separate offense (Sec. 6-4).
Don't let it pile up at home
Sec. 6-9 makes it a public nuisance to let animal waste build up on your own property to an unsanitary or offensive degree. Tethered dogs get a stricter rule: waste must be cleared from the tethered area every day (Sec. 6-15).
Leash or fence
Dogs may not run at large (Sec. 6-26). The code counts a dog as restrained when it's fenced in its owner's yard or held on a leash no longer than 6 feet (Sec. 6-1 and 6-15).
Register your dog
Every dog over 4 months old must be registered with the city and carry traceable identification, such as a microchip, backed by a current rabies certificate. Registration lasts the dog's lifetime, and owners send yearly rabies records to Animal Services (Sec. 6-29). On a lot under one acre, more than four dogs or cats takes a $50-a-year multiple pet permit (Sec. 6-43).
Why it matters here
Waxahachie is named for its creek. Waxahachie Creek rises a mile north of Midlothian, follows US 287 to the city's western limits, curves around the south side of town, passes under US 77 and skirts the eastern shore of Lake Waxahachie, a 645-acre reservoir completed in 1956 for city and industrial water. From there it runs through Bardwell Reservoir and into Chambers Creek in Navarro County. City code protects the lake by name: no one may leave filth anywhere it could drain toward Lake Waxahachie or its streams (Sec. 18-6). A scooped yard keeps what the dogs leave behind out of that path.

Frequently asked
Waxahachie questions, answered.

How much does dog poop scooping cost in Waxahachie, TX?
For most Waxahachie yards with one dog on a weekly plan, it comes to under $25 a scoop, billed monthly. Your exact price depends on how many dogs you have, how often we come and your ZIP code, and our quote shows it on the spot. New customers get $25 off their first month, and we give discounts to veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors.
Is there a pooper scooper near me in Waxahachie?
Yes. Booty Scoopy is a family-owned pooper scooper a short drive north in DeSoto, and we scoop yards in Waxahachie's ZIP codes 75165, 75167 and 76065. Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll confirm your street.
How often should I have my Waxahachie yard scooped?
Once a week suits most Waxahachie yards: nothing piles up in the Texas heat, and the yard stays ready for kids, guests and the lawn mower. Homes with several dogs do best twice a week, and big packs four times a week.
Do I need to be home when you scoop my Waxahachie yard?
No. Just leave the gate unlocked. We walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot the waste, put it in your trash can and double-check that the gate is latched before we leave.
Can I get a one-time yard cleanup in Waxahachie?
Yes. A one-time cleanup gets a yard that's gotten away from you back to clean, before a party, a move or a new puppy, or after a long weekend of trips to Wags-A-Hachie Dog Park. Pick "One-time cleanup" in the quote to see the price.
Do you scoop artificial turf in Waxahachie?
Yes. We scoop turf, pads and gravel dog areas and apply our enzyme deodorizer, which also works on lawns and patios that still smell after a scoop. We don't steam clean or deep wash turf.
Is there a contract for poop scooping in Waxahachie?
No. There are no long-term contracts with Booty Scoopy: start, pause or cancel anytime, with no cancellation fees.
Who will be scooping my yard in Waxahachie?
Brandon and Christina, the owners. Booty Scoopy is a husband-and-wife business a short drive north in DeSoto, not a franchise, so the people you call or text are the people in your yard.
What is Waxahachie's dog poop rule?
Sec. 6-28 makes it an offense to let your dog poop on someone else's property or in a public place, to walk your dog there without something to pick up the waste, or to leave the waste behind. Fines run up to $500 per violation, and each day counts separately (Sec. 6-4).
Does the rule cover my own backyard?
The pick-up rule doesn't, but Sec. 6-9 does: letting waste build up on your own property to an unsanitary or offensive degree is a public nuisance. Regular scooping keeps your yard clear of it.
Where can I take my dog in Waxahachie?
Wags-A-Hachie Dog Park, Getzendaner Memorial Park, Lake Waxahachie, the Hachie Hearts Trail, the Little Creek Trail and the disc golf course are all on the visitors bureau's list of places to bring a dog.
Does my dog need to be registered in Waxahachie?
Yes. Every dog over 4 months old must be registered with the city and carry traceable identification, such as a microchip, with a current rabies certificate. Registration lasts for the dog's life.
