Your Glenn Heights pooper scooper
Dog poop scooping in Glenn Heights.
Glenn Heights sits on DeSoto's southern border, so it's one of the closest towns to our home base. Booty Scoopy is family owned and operated by Brandon and Christina, and we're not a franchise with Glenn Heights on a list: we're a local DeSoto team that drives out because we want to serve this community. We scoop residential yards throughout Glenn Heights, out toward I-35E and everywhere in between.
It's a town that sits on a county line. The northern half of Glenn Heights is in Dallas County and the southern half is in Ellis County, so your school district depends on which side you're on: DeSoto ISD on the Dallas County side, Red Oak ISD on the Ellis County side. The whole city lies west of I-35E, with about a mile and a half of interstate frontage and 7.2 square miles in all.
Every visit works the same way. We walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot every bit of waste, sanitize the bags before they go in your trash can, and double-check that your gate is latched before we leave. Choose once a week, twice a week or four times a week, or start with a one-time cleanup. Our enzyme deodorizer handles lawns, patios and dog runs that still smell, and we scoop artificial turf too. New customers get $25 off their first month, and we offer discounts for veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors.

Good neighbors
Glenn Heights's dog rules.
Pick it up right away
Under Sec. 4-96 of the city code, it's an offense to let your dog poop on someone else's property or anywhere open to the public unless you immediately pick it up and dispose of it in a sanitary way. That covers streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks, playgrounds and the common areas of apartments, schools, offices and shops.
Don't let it build up at home
The code's definition of a public nuisance includes letting fecal matter build up until it creates unsanitary, dangerous or offensive conditions (Sec. 4-1).
Leashes and fences
In public, your dog must be under your immediate, effective control, and the code defines a leash as no longer than 6 feet. At home, dogs need a secure enclosure or a leash or tether. Open garages, unfenced yards and invisible electronic fences don't count (Sec. 4-99).
Register every year
Dogs and cats 4 months and older need a city registration each year, January 1 through December 31, with a current rabies vaccination, and the tag stays on their collar or harness (Sec. 4-11). Register at the Glenn Heights Police Department: $10 for a spayed or neutered pet, $50 otherwise, and free for residents 65 and older.
Microchips
Since 2025, dogs must be microchipped, with your contact details kept current with the chip company. Dogs under 4 months old and dogs in the city less than 30 days are exempt (Sec. 4-4).
Why it matters here
On the south side of Glenn Heights, Red Oak Creek flows east of Courtney Lane Park on its way to the Upper Trinity River. The city has run a storm water program since 2008, and its monthly storm water fee pays for street sweeping, Clean Up Day and storm drain upkeep. The city's runoff brochure explains that whatever enters the storm sewer is discharged untreated into water used for swimming, fishing and drinking, and that bacteria can wash into swimming areas. Dog waste left in the grass is one more thing the next storm can carry. Scooped, bagged and in the trash can, it stays out of the creek.

Frequently asked
Glenn Heights questions, answered.

How much does dog poop scooping cost in Glenn Heights, TX?
For most Glenn Heights yards with one dog on a weekly plan, it comes to under $25 a scoop, billed monthly. Your exact price depends on how many dogs you have, how often we come and your ZIP code, and our quote shows it on the spot. New customers get $25 off their first month, and we give discounts to veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors.
Is there a pooper scooper near me in Glenn Heights?
Yes. Booty Scoopy is a family-owned pooper scooper just north of you in DeSoto, and we scoop yards in Glenn Heights's ZIP code 75154, from Heritage Lakes at Bear Creek, Gateway Estates and Beaver Creek to the rest of town. Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll confirm your street.
How often should I have my Glenn Heights yard scooped?
Once a week suits most Glenn Heights yards: nothing piles up in the Texas heat, and the yard stays ready for kids, guests and the lawn mower. Homes with several dogs do best twice a week, and big packs four times a week.
Do I need to be home when you scoop my Glenn Heights yard?
No. Just leave the gate unlocked. We walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot the waste, put it in your trash can and double-check that the gate is latched before we leave.
Can I get a one-time yard cleanup in Glenn Heights?
Yes. A one-time cleanup gets a yard that's gotten away from you back to clean, before a party, a move or a new puppy, or after a long weekend of trips to Heritage Park. Pick "One-time cleanup" in the quote to see the price.
Do you scoop artificial turf in Glenn Heights?
Yes. We scoop turf, pads and gravel dog areas and apply our enzyme deodorizer, which also works on lawns and patios that still smell after a scoop. We don't steam clean or deep wash turf.
Is there a contract for poop scooping in Glenn Heights?
No. There are no long-term contracts with Booty Scoopy: start, pause or cancel anytime, with no cancellation fees.
Who will be scooping my yard in Glenn Heights?
Brandon and Christina, the owners. Booty Scoopy is a husband-and-wife business just north of you in DeSoto, not a franchise, so the people you call or text are the people in your yard.
Do you scoop yards on both sides of the county line?
Yes. We serve yards throughout Glenn Heights, in the Dallas County half and the Ellis County half. Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll confirm your street.
What is Glenn Heights' dog waste rule?
Sec. 4-96 makes it an offense to let your dog go on someone else's property or anywhere open to the public unless you immediately pick up the waste and dispose of it in a sanitary way. That includes streets, sidewalks, alleys, parks and playgrounds.
Is Bear Creek Nature Park in Glenn Heights?
No. It's a City of Lancaster park at 1000 Bear Creek Road, about 5 miles east of Glenn Heights City Hall. Glenn Heights has its own Bear Creek names: Heritage Park on East Bear Creek Road and the Heritage Lakes at Bear Creek neighborhood.
Is there a dog park in Glenn Heights?
The city's parks pages don't list one. Heritage Park, Gateway Park and All Abilities Park all have walking paths, and Gateway and All Abilities have dog water fountains. Next door, Lancaster's fenced Dog Park at City Park, 211 W. Belt Line Road, has separate areas for dogs over and under 30 pounds.
Do I need to register my dog in Glenn Heights?
Yes, every year, at the Glenn Heights Police Department with proof of rabies vaccination. It's $10 for a spayed or neutered pet, $50 otherwise, and free for residents 65 and older. Dogs also need a microchip.
