Your Ennis pooper scooper
Dog poop scooping in Ennis.
Ennis sits in southeastern Ellis County, fourteen miles southeast of Waxahachie, where I-45 crosses highways 34, 75 and 287, about 25 minutes south of downtown Dallas. It's one of the towns on Booty Scoopy's service list. We're a family business from DeSoto, owned and run by Brandon and Christina, so when you call or text (469) 383-8899, you reach the people who do the scooping.
Every visit covers the whole yard, every pile. We double-bag the waste, knot it and sanitize the bags before they go in your trash can, sanitize our tools, boots and buckets between yards, and double-check your gate on the way out, so you don't need to be home. Pick once a week, twice a week or four times a week, or start with a one-time cleanup. There's no contract, weekend service is available, and new customers get $25 off the first month.
Ennis allows up to four dogs per home without a permit, and a full house fills a yard fast. That's when a weekly or twice-a-week scoop makes the biggest difference. If the patio or dog run still smells after we scoop, our enzyme deodorizer breaks down the odor, and we scoop artificial turf too.

Ennis's dog rules.
Pick it up immediately
Sec. 4-26, added in November 2023, makes it unlawful to let your dog poop on public property or on private property that isn't yours. Cleaning it up immediately is a defense, so in practice the rule means picking up right away. If the dog was running loose when it happened, the code treats that as evidence the owner allowed it.
Fines
Sec. 4-26 sets no fine of its own, so the city's general penalty applies: up to $500 for most violations and up to $2,000 for violations of public health and sanitation rules, with each day counted as a separate offense (Sec. 1-14).
Leashes in city parks
In Ennis parks, pets must stay on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times, and pet waste must be picked up and disposed of properly.
No running at large
Off your property, a dog must be on a leash, chain or other restraint strong enough to control it (Sec. 4-1 and 4-3). A tethered dog must not be able to reach within five feet of a street, alley, sidewalk or public right-of-way unless the area is fenced, and an unleashed dog on school grounds is a public nuisance (Sec. 4-21).
Four dogs per home, and yearly rabies shots
No more than four dogs per residence, not counting puppies under four months, unless you hold a $10 multiple pet permit from the health department, issued after an inspection and renewed every October 1 (Sec. 4-12). Dogs and cats three months and older need a rabies vaccination every year from a licensed veterinarian, and you must show the certificate when asked (Sec. 4-57 and 4-58).
Why it matters here
Water has been part of the Ennis story since the railroad days: the railroad made the town its northern division headquarters only on the condition that Ennis supply its water, and the city built its first lake for that in 1891. On the west side, 156-acre Lake Clark has a park with a fishing pier, a land jetty and a boat launch. Less than a mile south of the city limits lies Bardwell Lake, formed in 1965 by damming Waxahachie Creek, which flows down from Midlothian and Waxahachie and on into Chambers Creek in Navarro County. Scooping the yard keeps what the dogs leave behind from washing toward that water when it rains.

Frequently asked
Ennis questions, answered.

How much does dog poop scooping cost in Ennis, TX?
For most Ennis yards with one dog on a weekly plan, it comes to under $25 a scoop, billed monthly. Your exact price depends on how many dogs you have, how often we come and your ZIP code, and our quote shows it on the spot. New customers get $25 off their first month, and we give discounts to veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors.
Is there a pooper scooper near me in Ennis?
Yes. Booty Scoopy is a family-owned pooper scooper up the road in DeSoto, and we scoop yards in Ennis's ZIP code 75119. Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll confirm your street.
How often should I have my Ennis yard scooped?
Once a week suits most Ennis yards: nothing piles up in the Texas heat, and the yard stays ready for kids, guests and the lawn mower. Homes with several dogs do best twice a week, and big packs four times a week.
Do I need to be home when you scoop my Ennis yard?
No. Just leave the gate unlocked. We walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot the waste, put it in your trash can and double-check that the gate is latched before we leave.
Can I get a one-time yard cleanup in Ennis?
Yes. A one-time cleanup gets a yard that's gotten away from you back to clean, before a party, a move or a new puppy, or after a long weekend of trips to Lions Park. Pick "One-time cleanup" in the quote to see the price.
Do you scoop artificial turf in Ennis?
Yes. We scoop turf, pads and gravel dog areas and apply our enzyme deodorizer, which also works on lawns and patios that still smell after a scoop. We don't steam clean or deep wash turf.
Is there a contract for poop scooping in Ennis?
No. There are no long-term contracts with Booty Scoopy: start, pause or cancel anytime, with no cancellation fees.
Who will be scooping my yard in Ennis?
Brandon and Christina, the owners. Booty Scoopy is a husband-and-wife business up the road in DeSoto, not a franchise, so the people you call or text are the people in your yard.
What is Ennis's dog poop rule?
Sec. 4-26 makes it unlawful to let your dog poop on public property or on private property that isn't yours, unless you clean it up immediately. The general penalty runs up to $500, or up to $2,000 for public health and sanitation violations.
How many dogs can I keep in Ennis?
Up to four per residence, not counting puppies under four months. More takes a $10 multiple pet permit from the health department, issued after an inspection and renewed every October 1.
Where can I walk my dog in Ennis?
Lions Park's half-mile path around the pond, the Kachina Prairie trail, Veterans Memorial Park and the trail at Bluebonnet Park are all good walks. Keep your dog on a leash no longer than 6 feet and pick up after it.
What shots does my dog need in Ennis?
Dogs and cats three months and older need a rabies vaccination every year from a licensed veterinarian, and you must show the certificate if animal control or the police ask.
