Your Cedar Hill pooper scooper
Dog poop scooping in Cedar Hill.
Cedar Hill sits in the rolling hills of southwestern Dallas County, right on DeSoto's western border, so it's a short drive from our home base. Booty Scoopy is family owned and operated by Brandon and Christina in DeSoto, and a Cedar Hill yard gets the same visit as any other: we walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot the waste, sanitize the bags before they go in your trash can, and double-check that the gate is latched before we leave.
Cedar Hill covers almost 36 square miles and counted 49,148 people at the 2020 Census, from Historic Downtown to Lake Ridge, the master-planned area in the city's southwest corner at Joe Pool Lake, where building began in the mid-1980s. Pick once a week, twice a week or four times a week, or start with a one-time cleanup if the yard has gotten away from you. Not sure your street is on our route? Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll tell you.
Got artificial turf? We scoop it and apply our enzyme deodorizer, which also works on lawns, patios and dog runs that still smell after a scoop. New customers get $25 off their first month, we offer discounts for veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors, and our customers' dogs get treat drop-offs from Pickles Dog Treats, a local woman-owned business that makes little poop-shaped treats for us.

Good neighbors
Cedar Hill's dog rules.
Pick it up, wherever it lands
Cedar Hill's code makes it a nuisance to let your dog leave waste on public or private property without picking it up and disposing of it properly (Sec. 3-26(a)(7)). The rule isn't limited to parks or other people's yards.
Don't let it pile up
Keeping a dog so that its waste builds up and causes foul odors or an unsanitary condition is a nuisance too (Sec. 3-26(a)(2)). After notice from animal control, it has to be fixed within 10 days (Sec. 3-26(c)). Violations are misdemeanors, and each day counts as a separate offense (Sec. 3-32).
No dogs at large
Unless a dog is fully confined by a building, wall or fence on your property, it needs a leash, chain or other restraint held by you or fixed to your property (Secs. 3-16 and 3-20).
Leashes in city parks
In a city park, a leash longer than 6 feet counts as no leash, except in areas posted as off-leash, and pets can't be left unattended (Sec. 15-16). Parks close from 11:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., and park violations carry a fine of up to $200 (Secs. 15-11 and 15-17).
Rabies tags
Dogs need a rabies vaccination before 4 months of age and a booster within 12 months, and the metal rabies tag goes on a collar worn in public places (Sec. 3-18).
Why it matters here
Two creeks start right here. Ten Mile Creek rises just inside Cedar Hill's northern city limits and runs 25.5 miles southeast through Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster, Wilmer and Ferris to the Trinity River, and Red Oak Creek rises near U.S. 67 and runs about 35 miles to the Trinity in Ellis County. Joe Pool Lake runs along the city's southwest corner, by Lake Ridge and the state park. The city's stormwater page says rain running off roofs, streets and driveways can pick up pet waste and isn't treated before it reaches local creeks and lakes used for fishing, swimming and drinking water. Waste scooped from the yard each week is waste the next storm can't carry downstream.

Frequently asked
Cedar Hill questions, answered.

How much does dog poop scooping cost in Cedar Hill, TX?
For most Cedar Hill yards with one dog on a weekly plan, it comes to under $25 a scoop, billed monthly. Your exact price depends on how many dogs you have, how often we come and your ZIP code, and our quote shows it on the spot. New customers get $25 off their first month, and we give discounts to veterans, teachers, first responders and seniors.
Is there a pooper scooper near me in Cedar Hill?
Yes. Booty Scoopy is a family-owned pooper scooper right next door in DeSoto, and we scoop yards in Cedar Hill's ZIP codes 75104, 76065 and 75154, from Lake Ridge, Hills of Lake Ridge and Bent Creek to the rest of town. Put your ZIP code in the quote form and we'll confirm your street.
How often should I have my Cedar Hill yard scooped?
Once a week suits most Cedar Hill yards: nothing piles up in the Texas heat, and the yard stays ready for kids, guests and the lawn mower. Homes with several dogs do best twice a week, and big packs four times a week.
Do I need to be home when you scoop my Cedar Hill yard?
No. Just leave the gate unlocked. We walk the whole yard, double-bag and knot the waste, put it in your trash can and double-check that the gate is latched before we leave.
Can I get a one-time yard cleanup in Cedar Hill?
Yes. A one-time cleanup gets a yard that's gotten away from you back to clean, before a party, a move or a new puppy, or after a long weekend of trips to Cedar Hill State Park. Pick "One-time cleanup" in the quote to see the price.
Do you scoop artificial turf in Cedar Hill?
Yes. We scoop turf, pads and gravel dog areas and apply our enzyme deodorizer, which also works on lawns and patios that still smell after a scoop. We don't steam clean or deep wash turf.
Is there a contract for poop scooping in Cedar Hill?
No. There are no long-term contracts with Booty Scoopy: start, pause or cancel anytime, with no cancellation fees.
Who will be scooping my yard in Cedar Hill?
Brandon and Christina, the owners. Booty Scoopy is a husband-and-wife business right next door in DeSoto, not a franchise, so the people you call or text are the people in your yard.
What is Cedar Hill's dog waste rule?
Under Sec. 3-26(a)(7) of the city code, it's a nuisance to let your dog leave waste on public or private property without picking it up and disposing of it properly. Letting waste pile up until it smells or becomes unsanitary is a nuisance too (Sec. 3-26(a)(2)).
Can I bring my dog to Cedar Hill State Park?
Yes, on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. Dogs aren't allowed in park buildings or swimming areas, and the park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Do you scoop HOA common areas in Cedar Hill?
Yes. Our commercial service covers HOA common areas, apartment dog parks and businesses with green space, on a set schedule. Call or text (469) 383-8899 to talk it through.
